FreightPlus Announces UP Education Network as First Official Philanthropy Partner
QUINCY, MA – NOV 21, 2024 – FreightPlus, a leading provider of managed transportation services, is excited to announce its first official philanthropic partnership with UP Education Network, a nonprofit school success network committed to providing high-quality education to students in underserved communities. This partnership underscores FreightPlus' dedication to giving back and supporting meaningful causes that shape the future.
FreightPlus employees kicked off the partnership by raising $5,000 to sponsor a classroom UP Education Network through a series of company-wide fundraising events, including a cornhole tournament, bingo lunch, and trivia night. This effort demonstrates the FreightPlus team's commitment to one of the company's core leadership principles: Team, Team, Team.
“This partnership is particularly meaningful to me, as I come from a family of educators,” said Stephen Aborn, CEO of FreightPlus. “Education has always been a cause close to my heart, and the work UP is doing to uplift students from underserved communities is nothing short of remarkable. I’m proud of our team for their efforts in supporting these students, and we look forward to continuing this partnership and making an even greater impact.”
UP Education Network's mission is to create exceptional schools for students who are systemically furthest from opportunity. UP graduates are academically and socially prepared to excel in and graduate from a competitive high school and in the path of their choosing. FreightPlus' classroom sponsorship will help advance this mission by ensuring students have the resources they need to excel in their studies.
"We are honored to partner closely with FreightPlus and excited to take it to the next level with more resources and engagement. Their team has been showing up for our students for years in a variety of ways from volunteering at field days, to hosting lunch & learns and to board service. This support fuels our ability to create exceptional learning experiences for our students" said Hillary Casson, CEO of UP Education Network.
FreightPlus is committed to further supporting UP Education Network with volunteer opportunities, fundraising efforts, and continued involvement to help enhance the school's programs and positively impact the students.
